Youth & the Underprivileged

MDG recognizes the importance and potential that a vibrant youthful population poses to the country at large. We shall adopt comprehensive strategies and mechanisms for positive youth engagement including setting in place opportunities and social infrastructure for both self and collective advancement of the youth. We advocate for institutional provisions and infrastructure that allow for the protection and promotion and continuous development of the talents, skills and capabilities of young people mainly in the essence of devolution. This is a reality that has already been given constitutional prominence and must therefore be steered to prosperity.

As a party, we believe in the empowerment and productivity of the devolved governments as a platform for delivery of public goods and services within the aegis of growth and development. Further, we believe that as a central theme of governance, proper oversight by legislative bodies is instrumental to the performance of these counties including their delivery on the aspirations and hope of Kenyans.

Manifest in the existence of these counties is the need to ensure that political representation is without any bias and is adequately accountable to the people of Kenya. The administrative structures in place within the counties must be fully operational and accountable to the people, and must in equal fashion be manned by individuals of the highest levels of competence possible. Devolution must satisfy its legitimate goal, which is that, that citizens define their own economic, political and social destiny including determining and participating in the tasks and objectives of the administration in place.
